1 They say that as you get older, it's harder to make new friends.
2 It's true. The older I get, the pickier I get about who I want to spend my time with.
3 But once in a while, life just throws you a gem.
4 That's exactly how I felt when I first met my work partner and good friend, Mayu.
5 So, I'd like to take this time to thank Mayu's mama for bringing this humongous emerald into my life.

2 Serina: Don't tell me it's Mayu because I've got dibs on him.
3 Grace: What, are you kidding me? He's not even my type. I actually have a thing for Peter.

5 Grace: He's very mature for his age. I think he's marriage material, too.

4 As romantic as it may sound, some find the tradition quite uncomfortable and outdated.
5 It happens a lot at Christmas parties especially when many singles get together.
